National Private Label Client was seeking a unique offering to bolster summer seasonal sales in its private label beer and hard seltzer category.

Solution

Octopi’s R&D Team explored the latest offerings in the industry and presented Client with several options for innovative seasonal products showcasing Octopi-developed art.

Result

Client enlisted Octopi to produce a 4,000 case run of Dragonfruit Pineapple Soursop Imperial Seltzer, a refreshing tropical seltzer weighing in at 9.0% ABV. Nationwide sales were so impressive that the next year, Client increased order volume 4.5x to 18K CEs for this item.

Challenge

National Private Label Client wanted to expand their private label alcohol offerings by creating a Hard Seltzer that would compete with the leading hard seltzer in the market for a great value.

Solution

Octopi conducted scientific and sensory analysis to develop a recipe that would incorporate specifically calibrated ingredients and produce on a scale that would keep the Client’s expanding YoY market stocked.

Result

Working with industry-leading ingredient and extract suppliers, Octopi created a variety pack of four hard seltzer flavors that recreated a premium hard seltzer experience, with the added benefit of eliminating artificial colors and flavors. The Vista Bay Seltzer Variety Pack sells for 25% to 30% less than the benchmark. Octopi developed the art in-house to provide a premium look for Vista Bay while keeping client costs to a minimum. Since the product was launched in 2021, it has seen a 25% increase in YoY sales.
